Evolve Dark Matter is a dark, texture-focused hybrid sample-based synthesizer plugin developed by Excite Audio. Built to generate low-end weight, complex drones, and shifting atmospheric textures, it bridges sample-based synthesis with real-time morphing. It is widely used across dark drum & bass, atmospheric techno, cinematic scoring, industrial, ambient, and experimental electronic music production.

The instrument is driven by a quad-layer engine (Layers A, B, C, D) capable of loading any combination of 250 factory sound sources (acoustic, bass, textures, vocals, synths) or synth oscillators, with support for custom user sample import. Sound design is centered around an interactive XY Morph Pad that dynamically blends between all four layers or modulates FX in real time. Key features include 12 drag-and-drop modulation sources (including 6 envelopes and 2 LFOs), a full modulation matrix, dual series/parallel filters, dynamic per-layer locking and one-click randomization, and 4 physics-inspired macro effects (Quanta, Entropy, Orbit, and Infinite).
