Universal Audio EMT® 250 Classic Electronic Reverb is a faithful emulation of the EMT 250, the world's first commercially available digital reverb and modulation unit, introduced in 1976. The plugin uses the same reverb algorithm as an original EMT 250 “golden unit” sourced from Ocean Way Recording and is fully endorsed by EMT International. Its characteristic digital reverb provides a distinctive, open, and spacious sound that can be used to add depth and ambience to vocals, drums, guitars, synths, and other sources.

The plugin recreates the original hardware's six effect modes: Reverb, Delay, Echo, Phase, Chorus, and Space, allowing it to function as both a classic reverb and a creative modulation processor. Universal Audio also adds Dry/Wet Mix, Wet Solo, and Hard Bypass controls for modern mixing workflows. The EMT 250 is available as a UAD Native plugin for Windows and macOS, supporting VST3, AU, and AAX formats without requiring Apollo or UAD hardware, while compatible UAD hardware can provide DSP-based processing.
