Elvish Choir is described by Soundiron as a pack of elven folk singing as an ensemble, with sustains and staccatos in various dynamics, perfect for holiday, comedy and parody music and those who are searching for fresh and weird source material for sound design and experimentation. That framing is disarmingly honest about what the library is: not a serious choral instrument but a comic and slightly absurd high-register ensemble whose character suits holiday music, parody, and unconventional sound design.

Its contents are documented: one master NKI instrument bank in open Kontakt format, Elf Staccatos, Sustains, Effects, Balloon pops, and Christmas song phrases, 20 Ambience patches created from the source content, 24 bit / 48 kHz uncompressed PCM wav samples, 20 custom sound-designed FX and ambient presets, 569 stereo WAV files, and 471 MB installed. It comes with an adaptable LFO system, with selectable LFO shape, modulation target parameter, speed, intensity, tempo-syncing, and fade-in time. A compatibility point matters for cataloguing: this is a standard open-format library for the full retail version of Kontakt. It can't be used in the free Kontakt Player or added to the Libraries rack. Per the distributor, the full retail version of Native Instruments Kontakt version 5.5 (or later) is required to use.nki instrument presets included in this library. The free Kontakt "Player" and "Add Library" import process do not support this standard open-format Kontakt library. Requirements are Windows 7 or higher or Mac OSX 10.9 or higher, with a dual-core CPU, 2 GB system RAM, and a SATA or SSD hard drive recommended. Soundiron, the developer, describes its mission since 2011 as to create a massive selection of inspiring virtual instruments, choirs, orchestral ensembles, solo voices, drums and percussion ensembles, rare, folk and vintage instruments, experimental sonic creations, cinematic sound-design and effects, and pure acoustical exploration. It is a low-cost library at $9.
