Egoist is described as SliceBassBeatBox and as groove in a box — a plugin built for loading any audio file and squeezing the groove out of it. Its workflow is deliberately compact: EGOIST combines a SLICER with a BEAT and BASS section, plus a sequencer with seven EFFECTS to add some special SB sauce. That combination makes it a perfect track sketching tool — material, rhythm, low end, and movement all exist in one place. The components are clearly specified. The Slice Arranger couldn't be more straightforward, letting you arrange up to 16 slices with detailed control, and it works with .wav, .aiff, and mp3 files loaded via Load Sample from the factory content folders or your own files. The bass section produces round and fat basses or blatant 303 lines, while the Beatbox supplies HiHat, Kick, and Snare. A notable design feature is pattern autonomy: each pattern can contain a different sample, slicing setup, individual bass, beat and effects, with a global clipboard to copy/paste between patterns 1-16, plus part or song mode and a Song Arranger. The factory library packs 760 MB of sonic material, from acoustic beats, piano and percussion loops, synths, vocals to FX, so you can go for hours before using external audio. It requires macOS 10.13 or higher and a minimum monitor height of 800 pixels, or Windows 7 or higher with the same display requirement. Formats are Audio Unit, VST2, VST3, AAX, and Standalone on Mac and VST2, VST3, AAX, and Standalone on Windows, with all plugins available as 64-bit versions for Windows and Mac (Intel and Apple Silicon). An iPad edition is also available, requiring iPadOS and offering the same slicer, beat, and bass combination. #Egoist #SugarBytes #Slicer #SliceBassBeatBox #BassSection #Beatbox #EffectsSequencer #SongArranger #TrackSketching #SampleBased #ElectronicMusic #HipHop #DrumAndBass #MusicProduction #AU #VST2 #VST3 #AAX #Standalone #iPad #FLStudio #AbletonLive #LogicPro #Cubase
