Devious Machines Duck 2 is a volume envelope and sidechain processing plugin designed to create precise ducking without relying on conventional compression or manual track automation. Its multi-segment envelope editor allows detailed volume curves to be drawn and synchronized to the DAW tempo, while MIDI, sidechain audio, track transients, and plugin input can be used as triggers. Duck 2 can produce traditional kick-and-bass sidechain pumping as well as rhythmic gating, tremolo, envelope shaping, and creative volume effects.

Duck 2 introduces a three-band multiband section with independent envelopes, linear-phase crossover filtering, an enhanced envelope editor with advanced curves and randomization, and a Trace Envelope function that can generate shapes from audio files or sidechain signals. It also includes groups for synchronizing envelopes between instances, adjustable timing offset, gain-reduction metering, and more than 200 factory presets. This product is specifically an upgrade for existing Duck v1 owners and functions as a direct drop-in replacement, retaining compatibility with previous sessions and presets.
