Duck 2 is a major upgrade to the popular sidechaining and volume envelope-shaping audio effect plugin developed by Devious Machines. Designed as a precise, low-latency alternative to traditional compressor-based sidechaining, it allows producers to draw exact volume curves to carve out space for kicks, snares, or vocals. It is widely used across Afrobeats, hip-hop, EDM, pop, house, synthwave, and cinematic scoring for clearing low-end mud between kick and bass, generating rhythmic pumping effects, custom tremolos, and transient shaping.

The centerpiece of version 2 is an expanded 3-band multiband engine featuring independent volume curves per frequency band, adjustable crossover slopes (12, 24, 48 dB/oct), linear-phase mode, and an integrated spectrum analyzer. The modernized curve editor introduces new spline and 2D-bend shapes, brush tools, point multi-selection, and cross-compatibility with Devious Machines' Infiltrator plugin.
