DS-2 Synthesizer is described with the line digital control, analog soul, and it is Cherry Audio's recreation of the 1978 Crumar DS-2. Its architecture is documented precisely and is unusual: it is based on the 1978 Crumar DS-2 that featured a monophonic DCO synth engine paired with a 44-note fully polyphonic (paraphonic) companion section, two LFOs, 24dB 4-pole VCF, two ADSR EGs, and a hardwired five part LFO mixer. That split architecture is the instrument's defining characteristic — one section is a proper monophonic synth voice with its own filter and envelopes, while the companion section is a divided-down paraphonic section covering the full keyboard — which means the DS-2 combines a lead or bass voice with a full-keyboard accompaniment in one instrument, a configuration that made it useful for the keyboardist working alone. The recreation follows Cherry Audio's established feature set: 20 studio-quality effects that can be arranged, saved, and recalled within their effects chains, which are interchangeable with recent Cherry Audio synthesizers, complete MIDI control and DAW automation for all controls, with easy-to-use MIDI learn and mapping (Preset and Global), Cherry Audio's popular Focus zoom-in feature, as well as standard UI zoom and resize via drag, and complete documentation available directly online from the instrument or in downloadable PDF format. It is priced at $59.00, with a demo available. It sits alongside the developer's other Italian and vintage recreations — Crumar Spirit and DS-2 covering two Crumar models, with KR-55C, Trident Mk III, Mercury-8, and Yellowjacket in the same neighbourhood — and is included in Synth Stack 6, which assembles 36 of Cherry Audio's award-winning plugins. It runs in AU, VST, VST3, AAX, and standalone formats on macOS and Windows. It suits synthwave, electronic, prog, and vintage-revival production, and is a natural choice for producers wanting a 1970s Italian synthesizer character that is genuinely different from the Moog and ARP recreations everyone else owns. #DS2Synthesizer #DS2 #Crumar #CherryAudio #AnalogSynth #MonoSynth #Paraphonic #DCO #VCF #ADSR #ItalianSynth #VintageSynth #SynthStack #Synthwave #Prog #ElectronicMusic #MusicProduction #AU #VST #VST3 #AAX #Standalone #FLStudio #AbletonLive #LogicPro #Cubase
