Doubler is Waves' vocal doubling and harmonizer plugin, and the technique behind it is stated precisely: it uses a combination of delay and pitch modulation to produce additional voices that sit alongside the original. That is the same principle as physically double-tracking a performance — small timing and tuning differences create thickness — delivered without a second take. It is sounding great on vocals, polyphonic instruments, and full mixes.

The plugin provides four voices, each of which can be switched on or off independently and set with its own gain (0 to –48 dBFS, default –12), pan position (up to ±45 degrees), and delay (0 to 100 milliseconds, default 8 ms). It also includes a two-band EQ section with hi-shelf and low-shelf filters that affect the doubler's voices but not the direct signal, with on/off switching for quick A/B comparison. The interface has been refreshed in recent Waves versions alongside other classic plugins. It runs in VST3, AU, and AAX formats on macOS and Windows, supports Intel and Apple Silicon CPUs, and works in all major DAWs.
