Kilohearts Disperser is a phase-based all-pass filtering effect that uses frequency-dependent delay to smear high-energy transients through time and space. Rather than boosting or cutting frequencies like a conventional EQ, it changes the phase relationship of the signal, producing changes in perceived impact and transient shape while maintaining the signal's overall gain. The plugin is particularly effective for creating boomy kicks, sharper hi-hats, and fuller basslines.

Disperser provides three primary controls: Frequency sets the filter's cutoff point, Amount increases the order of the all-pass filter to intensify the effect, and Pinch adjusts the filter Q to concentrate the frequency-dependent delay around the cutoff. It can be used as a standalone plugin or as a Snapin within Kilohearts hosts such as Snap Heap, Multipass, and Phase Plant. Kilohearts currently lists Disperser as a premium effect with VST, AU, and AAX support on Windows and macOS.
