Dione is the classic Steinway D Piano and brand new hybrid sounds, and its contents are documented: a 21.91 GB library size, losslessly compressed to 8.2 GB, containing 55 sources: Steinway D Grand piano, horns, keys, guitars, mallets, bells, e pianos, and more. That combination is the instrument's premise: rather than a pure piano library, Dione pairs a well-sampled concert grand with a broad palette of other sources so the piano can be layered, blended, and extended — the "hybrid" in the title being structural rather than a processing claim.

Its processing is documented: 12 built-in effects: compressor, delays, reverb, limiter, cabinet, gainer, rotator, stereo panner, 3-band equalizer, and more, described as a full set of effects for total customization — an unusually complete onboard chain for a Kontakt instrument, since many libraries in this register expect the host DAW to supply effects. Requirements are documented with recommended specifications: minimum 8 GB RAM, Mac OS X 10.7 or later, and a 7200 RPM or faster HDD, or recommended 16 GB RAM or more, Mac OS X 10.7 or later, and an SSD; on PC, minimum 8 GB RAM, Windows 7 or later, a sound card with ASIO drivers, and a 7200 RPM or faster HDD, or recommended 16 GB RAM, Windows 7 or later, ASIO drivers, and an SSD. One compatibility note is essential and should lead the catalogue entry: this product requires the FULL version of Kontakt and is NOT compatible with the free Kontakt Player — which places it outside the many libraries that now ship Player-compatible, and matters to buyers who do not own full Kontakt. It suits film and television scoring, ambient production, and cinematic composition, and the 55-source palette makes it useful both as a piano and as a layering instrument.
