DANDY is described as the gentleman bassist, and it is one of the UJAM Virtual Bassist titles — a range described as a collection of easy to use virtual instrument plug-ins, designed to deliver ultra-realistic sounding and 'in the pocket' bass guitar lines for your productions faster, easier and better than ever before. Its character is right in the name: a warm, rounded, classy vintage electric bass, the appropriate choice for soul, jazz-influenced pop, and rock where an aggressive modern bass would be wrong. The series' approach is documented: this intensely detailed palette is then coupled with cutting-edge AI assisted bass articulations and a choice of premium effects making the Virtual Bassist series nothing less than the best sounding and easiest to use virtual session bass player ever made, and drag and drop your favourite phrases into the bass track of your DAW and tweak every little detail. The range's scale is documented: 5 Bassists, 90 Multi Effect Modes, 346 Styles, 7,610 Phrases, 655 Presets, and 24 Character Presets, and DANDY specifically complements Virtual Pianist VIBE, which its own product page describes as perfectly complementing Virtual Bassist DANDY and Finisher RETRO — a useful pairing note for producers building a vintage-flavoured arrangement. Requirements are 7 GB of disk space, a 1280x768 display, an internet connection, and the UJAM App, with 4 GB minimum RAM per the series' documentation. Formats are VST 2, VST 3, AAX, and AU 2 — all 64-bit only — supported on Intel Macs and Apple silicon Macs (Rosetta and native), with AU 2 compatible only with Logic Pro X and newer, and delivery as automated installation via the UJAM App, or a downloadable installer file, with quick authorization via the UJAM App or your email and password within the plug-in. The manual notes that the audio content is packed into a so-called blob file named VB-Dandy.blob which is about 4.01 GB big, which can be kept on a separate content drive, and that Virtual Bassist Dandy requires MIDI note input for playing and recording musical performances, and optionally Pitchbend, Modulation, and Sustain Pedal data for added real-time variation. It is priced at $119.00 list, frequently discounted. It suits pop, soul, rock, and singer-songwriter production. #Dandy #VirtualBassist #UJAM #ElectricBass #VintageBass #Phrases #Styles #MultiEffectModes #CharacterPresets #MIDI #PitchBend #SustainPedal #Pop #Soul #Rock #SingerSongwriter #MusicProduction #VST2 #VST3 #AU #AAX #LogicPro #AbletonLive #FLStudio #Cubase #StudioOne
