Crumar Spirit by Cherry Audio is a meticulously crafted virtual recreation that captures the unique and captivating features of the exceptional analog monosynth from 1983, originally designed by some of the most legendary figures in the synth industry. That design provenance is the instrument's reputation: the Spirit was designed by Bob Moog, Jim Scott, and Tom Rhea — Moog's involvement after leaving Moog Music — which is why one reviewer describes it as "Like a Moog with a Twist!" The hardware is an Italian monosynth, and it is one of the rarest vintage synthesizers, making a faithful recreation genuinely useful rather than merely convenient. Its distinguishing architecture is documented: Cherry Audio's "Matrix Z" four-slot mod matrix with four independent pathways to send modulation from one of 25 sources to any of 45 destinations, each with its own amount knob, and multiple gate options for ADSRs allow for complex triggering — a specification that is far beyond most monosynths of the era and is the instrument's defining feature. Cherry Audio has faithfully recreated its unique buzzy tone and drone, enhancing it with several exciting features that expand on the original design such as 16-voice polyphony, an emulation of the integrated speaker, an advanced arpeggiator with probability and humanization controls, and a multimode filter. One user notes the instrument combines the spirit of vintage synths with modern enhancements and describes it as offering more polyphony, effects processing, expanded modulation options and more. It is available in AU, VST, VST3, AAX, and standalone formats, with macOS 10.13 or above, 64-bit required, with Intel or Apple Silicon processor. It is included in Synth Stack 6, which assembles 36 of Cherry Audio's award-winning plugins along with KR-55C, Yellowjacket, ODC2800, Trident Mk III, and Mercury-8. It suits electronic music, experimental production, and sound design, and its deep modulation matrix makes it valuable for genres that reward complex evolving tones — ambient, techno, and cinematic work among them. #CrumarSpirit #CherryAudio #Crumar #AnalogSynth #MonoSynth #ItalianSynth #MatrixZ #ModulationMatrix #BobMoog #Polyphony #Arpeggiator #MultimodeFilter #SynthStack #Techno #Ambient #Experimental #Cinematic #SoundDesign #ElectronicMusic #MusicProduction #AU #VST #VST3 #AAX #Standalone #FLStudio #AbletonLive #LogicPro #Cubase
