CFA CableDance – U-He ACE is a preset pack for u-he's ACE synthesizer from Resonance Sound, and the developer's summary is specific: it includes plenty of phat basses and stirring synthsounds, alongside rough sequences. The three categories describe the pack's weighting and its fit: basses, synthsounds, and sequences cover the ground a modular-style synth is usually reached for in production — and ACE's architecture is the reason a pack like this is worth buying, since ACE — Any Cable Everywhere — is u-he's modular-style semi-modular synth, where the modulation routing is open enough that a patch's character depends heavily on how the cables are placed, and a designed pack demonstrates routings a casual user might not construct. Its place in ACE's sound-set ecosystem is worth explaining, because the ACE preset market is unusually divided between free and commercial content, and a buyer should know that before purchasing. u-he's own PatchLib hosts a substantial free catalogue: Kyhon's Mun Mtshams offers 370 presets as a free download, Mun Mtshams 2 offers 388 presets, also free, aMUSEd's Heavy Industry provides 50 patches dedicated to dark ambient, heavy metal(lic), horror, and industrial/factory sounds, with no pads, mostly noisy FX, and lots of modular madness, and aMUSEd ACE 21 offers 21 presets where the emphasis is on huge dark ambient and noise FX and basses, with lots of interesting use of the mod mapper, plus u-he Osmose, a free collection of ACE, Bazille, Diva, and Hive 2 presets that respond to Osmose playing techniques for owners of the Expressive-E Osmose. Commercial ACE packs include Sounds Divine's ACE Electronica, featuring 128 sounds inspired by the DnB, House, and Techno scenes of the 1990s, and Vicious Antelope's Ace Synths, offering 32 expertly crafted presets ranging from timeless, classic tones to cutting-edge, experimental textures, spanning classic synth keys and resonant tones to dynamic, evolving presets, atmospheric risers, and dreamy, emotive keys, requiring Ace 1.4.3 (revision 16518) or newer. A version requirement applies across the range and should be stated: u-he's own soundsets specify host versions precisely — Automata's requirements being Diva version 1.4.6 or newer — and ACE packs similarly require a minimum ACE version, so buyers should check the pack's stated ACE version before purchase. It suits electronic music, techno, drum & bass, and sound design.
