BRUTE refers to Arturia's software recreation of the MiniBrute, the analog monosynth designed to deliver raw analog power at an accessible price. It offers the same uncompromising analog sound, now capable of complex chord voicings and layered textures that go beyond its monosynth DNA, with 8 voices of adjustable polyphony. The core architecture that made the original distinctive is preserved: the Steiner-Parker Multimode Filter, a Voltage Controlled Oscillator with Sub-Osc, LFO1 with 6 waveforms and bi-polar modulation destinations, and LFO2 with 3 vibrato modes.

The instrument's character is defined by Brute Factor™, delivering saturation and rich harmonics — the feedback circuit that gives the Brute range its aggressive edge. A 4-slot FX rack with 17 FX types extends the sound further, covering everything from subtle reverb to stacked distortion, so a patch can go from clean to downright mean. It works in Standalone, VST, AAX, Audio Unit, and NKS formats (64-bit DAWs only). Mac requirements are Mac OS 11+, 4 GB RAM, a 4-core 3.4 GHz CPU (4.0 GHz turbo-boost) or Apple Silicon CPU, 3 GB free hard disk space, and an OpenGL 2.0 compatible GPU.
