Black Oyster ADpak is a drum kit expansion (ADpak) for XLN Audio's Addictive Drums 2, and the name is a reference most drummers will recognise: "Black Oyster" is the finish of the drum kit associated with Ringo Starr's Beatles-era setup — a Ludwig kit in Black Oyster Pearl — and drum libraries using that name are generally aiming at the warm, dry, moderately damped tone of early-to-mid 1960s rock and pop drum recording rather than the bright, heavily miked modern rock kit. The format's structure is documented across the range: ADpaks include complete drum kits and tons of production-ready presets, while MIDIpaks supply beats and grooves and Kitpiece Paks expand your sonic palette with individual snares, kick drums, toms, and percussion, carefully chosen to complement your kits and add new flavors to your drum library. The instrument's premise applies: build your ultimate custom kit by freely combining kit pieces from your Addictive Drums collection, or pick a starting point from hundreds of mix-ready presets for any style and adjust to taste. Because every Addictive Drums 2 ADpak loads into the same engine, a buyer can combine this kit's pieces with any other ADpak they own — which is the argument for buying a niche kit rather than a large bundled collection. Requirements follow the host: macOS 10.13 or later (64-bit) or Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit), 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended), an internet connection during installation, and formats of VST, AU, AAX (64-bit) plus a standalone application. XLN Audio actively tests on Ableton Live 10 or later, Apple Logic Pro 10 or later, Avid Pro Tools 11 or later, Cakewalk by Bandlab, FL Studio 20 or later, Reason Studios 9.5 or later, Reaper 5 or later, and Steinberg Cubase 10 or later. ADpaks are commonly priced at $69 to $89, with the Addictive Drums 2 Custom Collection letting a buyer choose 3 ADpaks, 3 MIDIpaks, and 3 Kitpiece Paks and named Collections grouping a fixed set around a production context. It suits classic rock, 1960s pop, retro soul, indie, and singer-songwriter production. Confirm the exact kit contents and recording details on the product page, since ADpak contents vary considerably between kits in the range. #BlackOysterADpak #AddictiveDrums2 #AddictiveDrums #ADpak #XLNAudio #DrumKits #Vintage #ClassicRock #SixtiesPop #RetroSoul #Indie #SingerSongwriter #MixReadyPresets #KitpiecePaks #MIDIpaks #CustomCollection #MusicProduction #VST #AU #AAX #Standalone #FLStudio #AbletonLive #LogicPro #Cubase #StudioOne #ProTools #Reaper
