Black Box Analog Design HG-2 is an officially licensed tube saturation and color processor plugin developed by Brainworx for Plugin Alliance. Modeled directly after the high-end boutique hardware unit, the plugin emulates dual 6U8A pentode and triode tubes alongside 12AX7 distortion circuits to add glue, width, depth, and character to individual tracks, instrument buses, and full master mixes. It is widely used across pop, hip-hop, rock, Afrobeats, R&B, and electronic music production.

The processor features separate Pentode (odd harmonics) and Triode (even harmonics) saturation controls, a dedicated Saturation Frequency selector (Low, Flat, High) for target tube saturation, and an air-boosting Alt Tube circuit for extra high-frequency sheen. Brainworx-exclusive digital features include TMT (Tolerance Modeling Technology) for channel-to-channel analog variation, continuous M/S (Mid-Side) processing, a Mono Maker control, and continuous variable Density and Calibration controls. HG-2 operates in 64-bit VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats for Windows (10/11) and macOS (11+ with native Apple Silicon and Intel support).
