BFD Signature Snares Vol. 2 is documented as the second instalment of Yamaha artist signature snares for BFD3, BFD Eco and BFD2 — 5 detailed and immaculately recorded snares with varied beater types to swap into your kits, described as a download-only expansion pack for BFD3. The Yamaha attribution is the theme: Yamaha's signature snare line is built around specific artists' instruments and preferences, so each drum in the pack carries a working drummer's voicing decision rather than a generic studio snare — and that is what a signature snare library offers that a kit expansion does not. Its contents are documented with individual instrument detail: 5 Yamaha Signature-series snares, multiple articulations including rim-clicks, and played with various beaters — sticks, brushes, mallets, and rods. Named drums in the series are documented on the first volume's FAQ, and the pattern continues here: the Gadd Signature Snare Drum (5.5" x 14") is a brass shell snare that is a crucial component of Steve Gadd's signature snare sound, supplied with sticks (strainer on and off) and brushes (strainer on), and the Garibaldi Signature Model (3.5" x 14") is a brass snare featuring a sound full of richness, colour, and balanced definition throughout its wide dynamic range — where the Garibaldi drum's unusually shallow 3.5-inch depth is the point of it, since a shallow brass snare produces a tight, articulate crack with less body than a standard-depth drum, which is why David Garibaldi's Tower of Power funk playing sounds the way it does. The multiple beater types are the library's real breadth: brushes for ballads and acoustic work, rods for a softer stick-like attack, mallets for swelling and melodic playing, sticks for everything else — and the strainer-on and strainer-off options on the same drum give two entirely different voices. The compatibility position should lead the entry: this is a BFD3-family expansion requiring a BFD 3.5 licence, not a BFD Player expansion — since BFD Player expansions require BFD Player 1.1.0 and are documented as not compatible with BFD3. Requirements are Windows 10 version 1909 and above or MacOS 12 Monterey and above, with 3.2 GB free disk space required, 8 GB DDR3 RAM and above, Intel Core i5 3.0 GHz or above, AMD Ryzen 3 (2017) and above, or Apple Silicon M1 and above, and an internet connection required to authorize, with 5.8 GB hard drive space for a full install listed on the distributor's page. Formats are VST2, VST3, and AAX, with AU on Mac, Intel and ARM, Rosetta not required. It is listed at $49.00, frequently discounted to $14.00, and BFD 3 itself is required. It suits funk, soul, jazz, rock, and session production, and because any BFD snare can be swapped into any BFD kit, the pack functions as a snare upgrade across a producer's existing libraries. #BFDSignatureSnaresVol2 #SignatureSnares #Yamaha #BFD #BFD3 #BFD35 #BFD3Expansion #Snares #GaddSignature #GaribaldiSignature #RimClicks #Sticks #Brushes #Mallets #Rods #BrassShell #NotBFDPlayer #Funk #Soul #Jazz #Rock #SessionDrums #MusicProduction #VST2 #VST3 #AU #AAX #FLStudio #AbletonLive #LogicPro #Cubase #ProTools #Reaper
