BFD Oblivion is an expansion pack for BFD3 whose included sounds and processing are inspired by genres like post-metal, sludge, prog-metal, and alt-rock, and are intended to have the punch to slice through the densest walls of guitars. It is designed to provide ready-to-use heavy rock and metal drum sounds — the library arrives processed rather than natural, which is the point in genres where drum treatment is part of the composition. The articulation list is unusually complete for a heavy library, covering Kick: Hit; Snares: Hit, Rimshot, Rim Click, Side Stick, Half Edge, Drag; Toms: Hit, Rim Click; and Hihat: Pedal, Closed Shank, Closed Tip, Quarter Shank, Quarter Tip, Half Open Shank, Half Open Tip, Three Quarter Shank, Three Quarter Tip, Open Shank, Open Tip — a level of detail that allows realistic performances rather than repeated single hits. Disk requirements are significant: BFD3-only installation is 11.7 GB for a full install (with reduced-detail options available), while the BFD2/BFD Eco/BFD3 version is 32 GB for a full installation because the data is uncompressed. The current requirement is BFD 3.5 License Required on Windows 10 version 1909 and above or macOS 12 Monterey and above, with 10.01 GB free disk space, 8 GB DDR3 RAM and above, and AMD Ryzen 3 (2017) and above or Apple Silicon M1 and above, plus an internet connection to authorize. Supported formats are VST2, VST3, and AAX on Windows and VST2, VST3, AAX, and AU (Intel and ARM — Rosetta is not required) on Mac. #BFDOblivion #BFD #BFD3 #Oblivion #DrumExpansion #HeavyDrums #PostMetal #Sludge #ProgMetal #AltRock #DrumKits #ProcessedDrums #Metal #MusicProduction #VST2 #VST3 #AAX #AU #ProTools #LogicPro #Cubase #Reaper
