The pack contains 5 premium snare drums, each played with sticks and captured with wires on and off and delivered in natural and 2 processed versions, giving 30 variations in total. The processed versions are designed to be dropped straight into a mix without further work.

The snares are drawn from Sonor, Gretsch, Zildjian, Ludwig, and Pearl, and made of brass, bronze, steel, and aluminium for a variety of sounds — so the five instruments genuinely differ in material and therefore in tone rather than being variations on one shell. The Sonor Artist Cast Bronze is among the specific models included. It suits metal, rock, hard rock, and progressive production. A compatibility note matters: BFD Metal Snares requires a registered copy of BFD3 and is not compatible with BFD1.x, BFD2, or BFD Eco.
