BFD Horsepower is a BFD expansion built around a Gretsch USA Custom drumkit, and it is the source library for the BFD Player Expansion: Americana Sticks, which reimagines a Gretsch USA Custom drumkit, played with sticks in exacting detail and is derived from the acclaimed BFD Horsepower expansion pack. That relationship is useful for cataloguing: the Americana character of the Player pack — oil-soaked vibes of grungy authentic country, neo-folk, and vintage rock — comes from this library's kit.

The shells in the derived pack are 20x14" Gretsch USA Custom Kick, 16x16" Floor Tom, 13x9" Mid Tom, and 12x8" High Tom, with a 14x5" Gretsch USA Custom Snare, and the cymbals are 21" Zildjian A-Custom Ride, 20" Zildjian A-Custom Crash, 14" Sabian AA Hihat, and 19" Zildjian K Dark Crash — with a groove count of 151 across Country, Folk, Blues, and Jazz genres and 9 production presets plus 1 Original Mix preset. It suits Americana, country, folk, blues, vintage rock, and singer-songwriter production. Note the edition distinction: BFD expansions require BFD 3.5 and are not compatible with BFD Player expansions, while BFD Player expansions require BFD Player 1.1.0 and are not compatible with BFD3. BFD Player expansions run on Windows 10 version 1909 and above or macOS 10.13 to macOS 13 Ventura (Apple Silicon compatible), with 2 GB free disk space (10.5 GB recommended for all content), 4 GB RAM (8 GB recommended), and a dual-core 2.5 GHz CPU.
