It contains meticulous recordings of both a Yamaha Recording Custom and a Birch Custom Absolute kit, and comprises 3 kicks, 9 toms, and a bonus reduced-detail Yamaha Jimmy Chamberlin steel-shell snare taken from BFD Signature Snares Vol.2. The bonus snare detail is worth noting: it is reduced-detail rather than a full multi-articulation instrument.

The kit-piece breakdown is specific: 3 Kicks played with felt and wood beaters, 9 Toms (5 played with sticks and mallets), and a Snare with sticks/mallets and strainer on/off. Additional articulations include Rim Shots and Rim Clicks on Birch Custom Absolute stick versions, with Birch Custom Absolute toms provided in sticks and mallets versions, while Recording Custom toms are played with sticks only. It was recorded and produced by John Emrich and recorded in similar studio conditions as BFD Percussion, other FXpansion Yamaha-based expansions such as BFD Maple Custom Absolute and the Mapleworks kits in BFD3 — so it blends consistently with those libraries. Requirements are BFD 3 License Required on Windows 10 version 1909 and above or macOS 12 Monterey and above, with 2.07 GB free disk space required on both platforms. Supported formats are VST2, VST3, and AAX on Windows and VST2, VST3, AAX, and AU (Intel and ARM — Rosetta is not required) on Mac. It suits hard rock, metal, and heavy rock production.
