Bass House Serum is a preset collection for Xfer Records' Serum aimed at bass house — a genre worth defining precisely, because its sound is a specific hybrid: the four-to-the-floor kick and swung groove of UK garage and speed garage, combined with a distorted, mid-range-heavy bass patch filling the role a lead synth would play in other house styles. The key production fact is that bass house is built around bass lines rather than bass notes — the low end carries the melodic and rhythmic hook, which is why a preset library for the genre has to deliver patches that work across a register rather than sitting in the sub. What those patches look like technically: heavily processed saw and square waves with significant distortion, filter movement synced to the groove, formant and vowel-style filtering for the "talking" bass quality, and a separate sub layer to supply the fundamental the distorted layer has lost. Serum is well suited to this because its wavetables cover the aggressive shapes the genre uses, its filter section offers several distortion-capable models, and the ability to route the sub oscillator independently means the classic two-layer bass house patch can be built and saved as a preset. Packs in this market are documented with consistent structures — The Tone Foundry's Phase Plant packs, for instance, ship 50 presets plus 50 Bonus WAVs, and Loopmasters' Patchworx series delivers 64 custom presets, 64 MIDI files, and 64 WAV rendered versions per pack, broken down by category so the buyer can see whether the weighting suits their need. A requirement applies and should be stated: Xfer Records Serum is required, with presets placed in Serum's preset folder via the Menu tab and the "Show Serum Presets folder" option. It suits bass house, speed garage, tech house, and UK-influenced club production. Presets run inside the host on macOS and Windows wherever Serum runs. Confirm the publisher and preset count against your listing, since the name is descriptive and Serum bass house packs are widely published. #BassHouseSerum #SerumPresets #Serum #XferRecords #BassHouse #SpeedGarage #TechHouse #UKGarage #PresetPack #Bass #Distortion #FormantFilter #SubBass #TwoLayer #Wavetables #MIDIFiles #WAVRenders #SoundDesign #ElectronicMusic #MusicProduction #VST #VST3 #AU #AAX #FLStudio #AbletonLive #LogicPro #Cubase
