Universal Audio Avalon VT-737 Tube Channel Strip is an officially licensed emulation of the Avalon VT-737sp, modeled in collaboration with Avalon Design. It recreates the hardware's Class A tube preamp, transformer circuitry, optical compressor, and discrete four-band EQ, including the original gain-staging and input characteristics through Unison technology. The preamp supports Mic, Line, and Hi-Z inputs, while the compressor provides smooth optical-style dynamics control suited to sources requiring controlled, polished compression.

The EQ provides four bands with a dedicated 32 kHz air band, while the EQ can be positioned before the compressor or used to shape its sidechain. Additional controls include high-pass filtering, compressor sidechain linking, variable attack and release, and high-Q options. The plugin is particularly suited to vocals, bass, acoustic guitar, voice-over, and other instruments where tube coloration, controlled compression, and high-frequency presence are desired. The current UAD Native version supports VST3, AU, and AAX on Windows and macOS, while UAD-2 DSP operation is also available.
