Aphex Vintage Aural Exciter is a faithful emulation of a tube-driven original model, recreating the rare hardware unit that became a studio staple. It models one of the few surviving tube-powered units ever made, and the plugin delivers the unique character of the original hardware unit while adding the practical advantages of software. The effect itself is distinctive: it is an exciter that gives sound shimmer, vividness, and depth, using a unique processing approach that increases the presence of a sound without adding level. That last property is the reason it endures — it lifts a vocal or instrument forward without simply making it louder, which means a mix does not get progressively denser as tracks are treated. It is usable on both vocals and instruments, with Mix and AX modes and insert/send modes available. The two modes matter because the original units were used both ways: the plugin provides a second mode reflecting the difference between using it as an insert and using it via AUX send/return, the routing with which many hit records were made. Mono and stereo components are included. It runs in VST3, AU, AAX Native, AudioSuite, and SoundGrid formats on macOS and Windows. #AphexVintageAuralExciter #Aphex #AuralExciter #Waves #Exciter #Presence #Shimmer #AnalogModeling #VocalProcessing #Mixing #CreativeFX #MusicProduction #VST3 #AU #AAX #AudioSuite #SoundGrid #ProTools #LogicPro #AbletonLive #Cubase
