Ancient Kingdom travels from the echoes of antiquity to the edges of the unknown, providing a tour of some of the world's most distinctive traditional wind instruments. It features 26 instrument categories, each with an array of highly detailed instrument articulations and combinations across a range of instrument type sub-categories that includes Long, Short, Effects, Legato, and Keyswitch, and totals 345 instruments. The developer's interface description is worth noting: the vivid Center Display features 3D instrument models and immersive landscapes, allowing easy control over libraries, articulations, multi-mic setups, and more. Its positioning is as an excellent complement to titles such as Fantasy Orchestra, with the reviewer's assessment being that for anyone working on world music projects, or composing for fantasy-based soundtracks, the Fantasy Orchestra/Ancient Kingdom combo would provide a versatile core sonic palette. It is available as either a perpetual licence, or as part of the ComposerCloud+ subscription, at $299, or via ComposerCloud+ subscriptions ($19.99/month or $149/year). It includes "Opus" as a sample player, running as standalone or plug-in in AAX Native, AU, VST2, and VST3 on Mac and Windows, and requires Opus 1.5.6 for use. System requirements are macOS 10.15 or higher (64-bit) or Windows 10 with ASIO sound drivers, with a quad-core CPU (octa-core recommended) at 2.7 GHz or higher, 16 GB RAM (32 GB or more recommended), and an SSD (SATA or PCIe). Note that this product requires an iLok account for authorisation, although it does not require a physical iLok key, as well as the included Opus software engine. It suits world music, fantasy and historical scoring, and film, television, and game audio. #AncientKingdom #EastWest #WorldInstruments #WindInstruments #Antiquity #Opus #ComposerCloud #FilmScore #GameAudio #Television #WorldMusic #Cinematic #SoundDesign #Historical #MusicProduction #AAX #AU #VST2 #VST3 #Standalone #LogicPro #Cubase #ProTools #Reaper
