Ambient Excursions is a preset expansion for Baby Audio's Atoms, the physical modelling synthesizer, built for producers working with ever-evolving ambient and new-age sounds and organic textures. It collects 3 ambient-themed preset packs from three different sound designers: Atmospheres — 104 presets by Paul Avgerinos, S1gns Of L1fe — 50 presets by S1gns Of L1fe, and Alone In Kyoto — 64 presets by Ryuichiro Yamaki. That is 218 presets in total made especially for ambient music production, each bringing a different designer's interpretation of the genre.

The packs highlight the outer reaches of Atoms' physical modelling synthesis, which generates sound from modelled physical behaviour rather than sample playback or conventional oscillators — which is what makes the resulting textures organic rather than static. Atoms itself ships with 250 factory presets, so this expansion significantly extends the instrument's range. Atoms requires VST, VST3, AU, or AAX (64-bit) on Mac OS 10.11 and up (including native Apple Silicon M-Chip compatibility) or PC Windows 10 and newer, with a standalone application / non-plugin version also included, and is supported in Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, Studio One, Bitwig, Reaper, and Reason.
