ACE (Any Cable Everywhere) is a versatile semi-modular software synthesizer developed by u-he. Designed to bridge the gap between traditional subtractive soft-synths and complex modular environments, ACE features an open patch bay where virtually any output socket can be connected to any input socket without distinguishing between audio and control signals. It is widely used across synthwave, techno, ambient, pop, Afrobeats, and experimental sound design for generating analog-style leads, evolving pads, sub-bass, and complex modular textures.

The synth comes with a default internal routing architecture (similar to classic hardware like the ARP 2600), allowing producers to play sounds right away before patching virtual cables. Its engine includes 2 main VCOs (capable of cross-modulation, FM, and hard sync), 2 LFOs that can double as audio-rate oscillators, 2 multimode self-oscillating VCFs, and 2 ADSR envelopes with specialized "snap" and "singing" modes. Advanced tools include a 128-value Mapping Generator, a Ramp Generator, Multiplex signal splitters/mixers, and onboard chorus, delay, and EQ effects. ACE operates in 64-bit VST2, VST3, AU, AAX, and CLAP formats for Windows, macOS (with native Apple Silicon and Intel support), and Linux.
