Abbey Road Saturator is modelled directly from time-proven saturation chains at Abbey Road Studios, providing saturation and distortion unlike any other device. It offers two versatile desk distortion flavours: the crunchy tube REDD sound and the rounded solid-state TG12345 tone, with the input, gain, and output stages of both consoles calibrated to perfection by Abbey Road's engineers. It models the original TG12321 unit feeding into the REDD or TG desks, and the rare EMI TG12321 Compander excites the input pre-saturation — a method pioneered by the first generation of Abbey Road pop engineers. The Compander's crossover frequencies are adjustable, allowing the effect to focus on different ranges depending on the source: lower settings suit bass and kick drums, higher values afford unmistakable presence further up. It also offers unique M/S processing, letting distortion apply in stereo or to the mid or sides separately — for example, driving a centred kick and snare into beefy levels while leaving the sides (overheads and cymbals) clean and sparkling. It runs in VST, AU, VST3, and AAX formats on macOS and Windows, requiring an X64-compatible Intel or AMD CPU, 8 GB RAM minimum (16 GB recommended), 16 GB free disk space, and a screen resolution of at least 1024x768. It is created in collaboration with Abbey Road Studios. #AbbeyRoadSaturator #Waves #AbbeyRoadStudios #Saturation #AnalogSaturation #Distortion #REDD #TG12345 #EMITG12321 #Compander #MidSide #Mixing #MixingPlugin #MusicProduction #VST #VST3 #AU #AAX #ProTools #LogicPro #Cubase
