Applied Acoustics Systems Ultra Analog VA-3 is a virtual analog synthesizer designed to recreate the character and flexibility of classic analog instruments through physical-modeling-based synthesis. Its two-voice multitimbral architecture features two independent synth layers that can be stacked or split across the keyboard. Each layer includes two oscillators, two filters, a noise generator, envelopes, and modulation tools, providing control over everything from smooth pads and warm keys to punchy basses, expressive leads, plucks, and evolving textures. The instrument comes with over 1,200 factory presets spanning 32 sound categories, including 560 new sounds and 648 revised presets from the previous VA-2 library.

Ultra Analog VA-3 also features four performance macros per layer for real-time sound variation, a dedicated browser for organizing presets by category and creator, and an extensive effects section with reverb, delay, distortion, chorus, flanger, phaser, filtering, compression, and tremolo. Its arpeggiator, tempo-synchronized modulation, and assignable MIDI controls support both performance and detailed sound design. The synthesizer is suited to hip-hop, trap, R&B, electronic music, cinematic scoring, and experimental production. It runs on Windows and macOS as a standalone instrument and supports VST2, VST3, AU, AAX Native, and NKS formats.
