Tyla Dropped Lagos. Should Artists Pay for Politics?

Tyla's Lagos date got cut from her A*POP World Tour. It came after xenophobic attacks in South Africa blew up online and the pressure got loud. Malian legend Salif Keïta also pulled out of Macufe for the same reason.

I wanted to ask the real question. Should artists separate their art from politics? Do they owe us a public statement when things get ugly out there?

But here is the part most people skip. When a show gets cancelled, it is not just the artist who takes the hit. The dancers, the crew, the promoters, the local staff. They all lose. I cover that in this one too. This is segment 1 of Feelz Machine Podcast episode 03. Full episode link is in the description.
