I Made a Hit Song in 60 Minutes (R&B + Gospel Challenge)
I gave myself 60 minutes to write, record, and rough-mix a hit hook, no excuses, just the clock. I used a random songwriting challenge generator that gave me one rule: write a chorus that works as both an R&B love song AND a Sunday prayer, recorded with heavy reverb to sound like an empty church hall.
The beat is by Epsilon Beats. Watch the full process from blank page to finished hook, freestyling lyrics, building the melody, and racing the clock to mix before time runs out.
This is part of an ongoing series where I challenge myself to write hit songs under time pressure using random prompts for inspiration.
If you make music, songwrite, or just love watching the creative process happen live, you're in the right place.
Stay Making Melodies!
